June 25, 7PM cabin house concert

IMG_0859You are invited to our house concert June 25 at 7PM!!! We will have another crazy amount of talent from far and wide at our little cabin for our (3RD ANNUAL!) residency.

The concert will feature pianist/composer Quentin Tolimieri and choreographerJessica Gaynor in from Brooklyn, NY. Jessica will perform improvised movement with our group of musicians. Devin Maxwell will perform his new solo vibraphone and electronics piece and we may play other works for the group from pieces we’ve commissioned with conductor Rei Hotoda. We will all be celebrating the turning of our cabin into a music work-space!! We hope to get a ton of great and strange music work done here over the next few years.

The concert is part of our Listen/Space commissions residency, we have commissioned 7 new pieces this year (making 25 new works commissioned since we started 3 years ago!!). This year we have the world-class talents of composer/trumpet Stephanie Richards (San Diego/NYC), percussion Andrew Munsey (San Diego/NYC), saxophone Nathan Herrera (Santa Barbara), composer Jonathan Marmor (NYC), oboe Kristin Olson (NYC), composer/flute DR. Christine Tavolacci (Los Angeles), bass Kevin Farrell (NYC), violin Eric KM Clark (Los Angeles), clarinet/bass clarinet Katie Porter (yours truly), conductor Rei Hotoda (Chicago/SLC), movement Jessica Gaynor (Brooklyn), pianist/composer Quentin Tolimieri (Brooklyn) and percussion/composer Devin Maxwell.
